Bay City Post July 2013

                                          Bay City Post
July 2013                                                                 Issue #28
WELCOME to the twenty-eighth issue of the Bay City Post! -Keeping you updated on the best city on the grid.

Has a nice ring to it doesn’t it?! We sometimes lose sight sometimes lose the fight … one step back two forward.

First they came for the prims…. But I wasn’t a prim, then they came for the children… but I wasn’t a child. (OK the child thing worked out pretty well) Then they came for the gamblers… but I wasn’t a gambler either. The sex addicts they put in a concentration camp :o, the spammers, griefers, bots… ok maybe some of that was good… The vampires and furries … alright we got moles \o/ Moles! But when they came for the Barbie’s… there was nobody left to speak up for me… you’d speak up for me wouldn’t you?!? Of course I’m seven feet tall and beautiful in RL… get your hands off my GOS!!!
In the United States the Supreme Court had a moment of clarity in ruling that the federal government can no longer fail to recognize same sex marriages. Can you imagine that in some of our lifetimes there was a time when interracial marriages were not allowed?! WT?!
We all share one fundamental thing. That is that we are human. We all love. We all bleed. (Sometimes much to our vampire friend’s delight…. eeek) We all share wonder, joy, sorrow, hope, and so much more. I hope all discrimination will be at an end very very soon.
I pray that everyone can live in a free society; one that will help us to attain out highest ambitions, allow us to reach our greatest potentialities and to grow, prosper, and share together in the bounties of this world.
May we all someday be understood, accepted… or at the very least respected. That I demand for myself and for others. I celebrate you all!

oooooh it’s a twofer!

Happy July everyone!!!!
Mari wants BIG Boom…. come to see the fireworks at the Bay City fairgrounds!!!

Sunny Salutations   \o/

Taste of Bay City
ADudeNamed Anthony held a fantastic party at his new place!
ADudeNamed Anthony finally moved into town and his place is built. He hosted a fantastic rooftop party at Primtastic Creations in Mashpee on Friday, June 21st @ 6 PM SLT.
Cali Souther played the most excellent tunes . We danced, gabbed, shot spitballs at pedestrians.... and more.
Anthony said “This isn't a grand opening and you don't need to buy anything. This is strictly social.”    But sold us all mountains of cars hehe pretty cool ones at that! Keep up the great work Anthony! And thanks to Maureen for being the hostess with the MOSTess!!!!

Espresso Yourself
The Pen proudly presents Espresso Yourself night, every first Tuesday of the month from 6-8 p.m. SLT.
Espresso Yourself night, every first Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. SLT at The Pen, located in the heart of Bay City - Mashpee!
What is "Espresso Yourself?" It's a chance to take your spot on the stage and share. Tell a joke, share your poetry, read a chapter from your favorite book, sing a song.  Just share! Voice or Text. Talent not required, but passion is mandatory. Also, no mimes.
The key here is to participate.
How can you participate? Consider the following menu items!
Read a poem. Poetry is always encouraged at the pen. Share one of your own, or one by someone else. Read it on voice or type it out. You can even pre-record some sound files if you want to get really inventive.

Share a favorite story. Could be something you've experienced that you want to share. Could be a story out of a book that makes you think or that you just enjoy.

Share a picture of something you've built recently - or something you've built in the past - tell us about it, what were the challenges? What was fun? share the experience.

Free Advice. Tell LL how to fix Second Life, or tell us how to use it! Rant, rave, share.

I read the news today: tell us something you read in the news that caught your eye. Tell us what's going on!

Random beauty. Show us a photo of something that caught your eye. Share something of beauty and tell us about it. Maybe it's a pretty first life thing, or maybe it's a gorgeous place in here.

Surprise us: hand puppets,. juggling, wacky gags, etc.! Do something different and wild.

Just want to hang out? We'll let you can do that too: but you can still talk, still interact, and still be a part of the show. Everyone is a participant, even if you might not realize it.

Also, why not toss a few bones in the ol tip jar, too, or buy a fresh cuppa? It helps keep the lights on.
 “Taste of Bay City”
Isn’t it time YOU hosted a “Taste of Bay City” event at YOUR place?!?
Come to a Bay City Alliance meeting and find out more!

So I was too busy being AFK to blow anything up again or whatever.
Overheard in Harwich was the owner Ms. Sylvia Tamalyn saying: “I just don't get it!”. Here's wishing Sylvia, and all the folks at the R Pub lots of good luck!
